By Aymie Telinski: In today’s society everyone is looking for the brand new iPhone, Blackberry, or laptop. No one is ever excited about getting the older model of something, so why would anyone want to grow old? Cosmetic companies have made it a guessing game in what product will eliminate eye bags or what moisturizer will make you look 10 years younger

Instead of a relying on miracle products, why not learn directly from experts who specialize in anti-aging? I have put together a nontraditional list of anti-aging experts that have established unique philosophies that which enable them to feel and look younger and live happier lives.

1. Valerie Ramsey

On Valerie’s first few days at her dream job she broke her foot, was diagnosed with uterine cancer and doctors found that her heart was abnormal and she needed a pacemaker. Valerie’s health problems didn’t deter her from her goals. She fought through the pain using the mantras she lives by everyday. As a result, she has gone on to become head of a public relations firm, a model, an author, and a recognized speaker.

Few of Valerie’s Tips on Aging Gracefully:

Get healthy on the inside. That’s the only way to look healthy on the outside. Eating right and getting good sleep are key.

Banish negative thoughts. Valerie recommends meditation to reduce stress.

Follow a good skincare routine. Valerie exfoliates two or three times a week to maintain a healthy glow.

Keep moving forward. Find your “what’s next?” and pursue it.

2. Randi Ragan

Randi is the founder and owner of GreenBliss Eco Spa, which is Los Angeles eco-friendly mobile spa and lifestyle service. Before starting her spa Randi was a yoga teacher, spiritual leader and the creator of healing ceremonies. Some of LA’s top yoga studios are suing Randi’s techniques. On her website she posts blog entries on how to have a healthier lifestyle by using a holistic approach.

3. Dr. Oz Garcia

Not all anti-aging experts promote skin care products. Dr. Oz Garcia emphasizes the importance of a healthy diet as well. If you take care of your mind and skin, you must also be aware of food that goes into your body. Eating cheeseburgers and French fries at 18 years old is a lot different than eating it when you are 50. Dr. Garcia is a wellness and nutrition expert to the stars. He is also a consultation to James Royal Palm Hotel where he is offering his one-on-one services to customers at the hotel’s spas. In Florida he has helped create many healthy dining options in the surrounding areas.

This group of people I believe will make you feel and look younger and have a happier and healthier life.

Well first of all they do sound similar don’t you think? One can easily mistake one for the other if you are not too keen in the hearing department or maybe if the one speaking is saying them in a not too familiar accent. Either way, mistaking one for the other is not a very complex dilemma to be in, as both are certainly good for you. Unless you are craving for some yogurt and you get a suggestion to sit and meditate instead, it is not a problem to experience one instead of the other.

Hence my wild wandering curiosity has brought me to conclude that pairing these two may do you good in more ways than one. In fact from what I’ve found out there are 9 reasons why they definitely do you good, together.

As most of us probably know, Yogurt is loaded with a lot of nutrients. To name a few, potassium, phosphorous, riboflavin, iodine, zinc, vitamin B5 and B12, If you practice Yoga and are vegetarian you may fall short of B12, because the latter can only be sourced from animal products, such as chicken or fish. Vitamin B12 is responsible for keeping your red blood cells healthy and making sure your nervous system is relaying messages to your brain properly. Keeping you focused during Yoga practice.

Yogurt being high in Calcium is good for your bones. Making you stand up straighter, flex and stretch better during Yoga practice. Just make sure the Yogurt you buy is fortified with vitamin D for essential calcium absorption and skeletal benefit.

Despite its sugar content, Yogurt is good for your teeth. Studies have shown that the lactic acid content in yogurt counters the effects of sugar causing cavities while being good for your gums as well. The calcium in it strengthens your teeth too, giving you good reason to smile plenty especially when meditating.

“Live Active Cultures” or Probiotics, components that are highly abundant in Yogurt are good bacteria that technically fight off harmful microorganisms that cause intestinal infections such as diarrhea. Arming your insides with Yogurt everyday keeps you up and running and on schedule without interrupting your daily routine, not to mention Yoga practice.

Yeast infections yield to Yogurt. With yoga practitioners being mostly women, health concerns such as yeast infections are a significant matter. Once again, the presence of “Live Active Cultures” in Yogurt plays an important role in this scenario. “Candida Albicans”, the bad bacterium responsible for yeast infections yields to the live cultures in yogurt. Thus inhibiting these annoyingly embarrassing infections from bothering our daily grind not to mention daily conversations.

Yogurt fights allergies. Research have shown that bacterial cultures in yogurt have shown to stimulate infection-fighting T-cells in the blood stream, significantly fighting off viruses such as the common cold. Meditation and Yoga poses definitely do not go well with sneezing and coughing in between.

Yogurt hydrates your body better. Studies have shown that eating yogurt within an hour of your yoga practice nourishes your stretched out muscles and restores their resilience. What’s more, if you drink a bottle of water as well, the yogurt protein furthers the water’s absorption into your digestive system. Hydrating you better than if you only had the water alone.

With most of our primary concern being sugar and fat content in our diets, we forget to lower sodium intake as well. The good news is, Yogurt flushes out excess sodium from our bodies. It’s high potassium content being almost 600mg per 8 ounces does just that. High sodium diets have been associated with kidney complications, hypertension and heart disease in later years.

Yogurt gives you a flatter stomach. Studies have shown that high calcium diets make your body’s fat cells secrete less of the hormone Cortisol, which is responsible for telling your body to amass more flab especially in the belly region. Which leads us to conclude that consuming Yogurt as often as daily, facilitates in maintaining complicated Yoga poses by means of a slimmer body.

We often have heard people saying that the more you eat, the more you gain weight? However, if you believe in the same logic, then you must know that this notion of gaining weight due to your eating habits is absolutely meaningless. Yes, you can find better examples in your neighborhood where you might have seen slim girls and guys having almost all the food items, which are famous as high calorie food but gaining no weight in return. The most shocking part is you standing beside them have a little food, but keeps on gaining weight inhumanly. Therefore, you can understand that there is nothing such true notion exists which says “have no foods to lose weight” and if you are doing so you should call it off now. Moreover, having no food means getting into troubles, like ulcer, gastric problems, etc.

Now, the question is then, what is to be done to lose weight, right? Well, the answer is simple; you must know what to eat and what to avoid in order to keep your body weight in check. When you hear that food has no connection in making you fat, it does not gives you green signal to eat all what you like. The simple reason is your body metabolism does not permit you to digest all what you have exactly like your friends who are blessed with such wonderful body metabolisms. Henceforth, what you need to know is the names of the food which can be consumed while you are going through weight loss program along with the food items to be avoided from your diet chart.

Here is a list of food items to help you avoid starvation without giving your body extra fat.

Green vegetables and fruits are low calorie foods to insert into your diet list.

Fiber rich food items, like oat meals, dalia, brown rice, whole grain breads, etc. are definitely effective upon making you lose weight.

Avoiding the consumption of too much salt can be helpful.

Avoiding the high calorie milk products, like butter, cheese, etc. along with non vegetarian food items can aid you in losing weight.

Green tea rich in anti oxidants help in losing weight.

Spices, like pepper, dry ginger, etc. are effective upon making you lose weight.

If you want to know about more such weight loss tips, you can go through the boot camp reviews, where the people who have benefited from the boot camps describe their experiences.

So, keep on having good food to lose weight effectively.

The two biggest conscious decisions that we will make in life are what we will do for a living and who we will share our lives with. Our employment should be a means of self-expression: I am working in this career because my attributes fit it and I enjoy doing what I do. Our families are the most important interpersonal connections we’ll ever forge. They’re the people we come home to and who share in our daily ups and downs.

Unfortunately, life isn’t always so idealistic. Stress from the home can bubble over into work and vice-versa. In fact, a major reason why divorce is so prevalent these days is because people fail to properly balance and accommodate both pressures. If the stressors allowed to run rampant, there can be no positive outcome. Either the workplace takes too much precedence and the home life suffers or the home is given too much attention and the productivity decreases. Ultimately, it can end with either unemployment, divorce, or both.

It’s in everyone’s best interest to properly balance the two fairly. If done correctly, than work and home can coexist and important aspects of a bountiful, happy daily life. Here are a few tips that could take that idea and make it more of a reality.

Keep them as Separate as Possible:

There’s an old saying that essentially goes along the lines of this: “Eight hours for sleep, eight hours for sleep, and eight hours for family time.” It’s a wonderfully efficient formula that allows people to truly focus on what’s important. This means allocating time for your significant other, your kids, and even yourself a bit, too. Don’t bring your work home with you unless you absolutely have to. You’ve put in your time, enjoy the time you get with your love ones. Ultimately while it is not always possible to stick to this idealistic mantra it is well worth making the effort to set aside at least one evening of the week that is 100% family time, another that is dedicated to yourself and your friends, that might mean going out to the theatre or relaxing with a good book, attending a meditation class or going to the pub. The activity itself is not the important part what is important is to ensure that there is an adequate break and disconnect between your work and your home life.

Keep Communication Open:

If you’re having a stressful time in the office, let your significant other know. Give your kids a heads up and warn them that today might not be the best day for shenanigans. Your family will understand if something occasionally pops up. The same principle applies with respect to your work. Say your child is sick and your mind is distracted by worry. Explain to your boss when you walk in that something serious is going on that may reduce your productivity slightly. They’re human too. They’ll understand if this is a one off, we all have bad weeks. That said your time at work can be a fantastic opportunity for you to forget about your troubles at home and throw yourself in to your work, if you enjoy your job it can be a fantastic thing to dive in to a project.

Actively Resolve the Stress:

Sometimes, you’re going to have to get your hands a bit dirty if the situation truly calls for it. Maybe you need to have a serious conversation with your partner before things get way out of hand, sitting down and explaining the irritants and issues that are worrying you, odds are they’ll have more than a few of their own, even just taking the time to share this can be a relief. If you feel like your work environment or a colleague is somehow abusing or taking advantage of you then talk to your boss. If this doesn’t achieve the desired result perhaps it’s best to talk with an employment solicitor to see if there any legal routes you could consider pursuing. While this can be a source of stress and inconvenience sometimes starting the process is enough to bring about change at work Bear in mind that although facing an issue head on may pile on a bit extra stress temporarily, you’ll thank yourself in the long run that you actively solved the problem.

Taking a spa vacation is anything but this. From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave, you’ll be pampered within an inch of your life – leaving you with that priceless essence of relaxation that money just can’t buy. Except, of course, it can! Just book yourself into one of these beautiful spa’s and you’ll soon understand.

The Spa @ Viceroy Miami
This spa is the best on the East Coast, and you’ll be so overcome with all the luxury and gorgeous fittings and fixtures – that you’ll be dreaming of going back as soon as you leave. Expect all your regular spa treatments here, but expect some specialties too as this spa has patented several original treatments itself. Personally I love the beautiful pool area, and the simplicity of it.

Espace Vitalité Chenot by Jacques Garcia
This stunning spa has an element of mystique to it – which is why it’s made my list of beautiful spa locations. The décor here will keep you coming back for more – as it’s completely luxurious and absolutely perfect. The décor feels exotic and elegant, with a touch of excitement. The dark rooms are relaxing too – so you’ll be able to tune out here better than anywhere else in the world. One of the highlight is definitely the naturally lit square pool, where you can enjoy a relaxing dip in between treatments.

Green T. House Living Bath House Residence by JinR
This spa is truly something special and something perfect for those searching for something a little different and unique. The gorgeous slate surroundings in this spa give the spa a completely natural feeling. The wow factor comes with the natural mineral water they use for the pools though – all of which is infused with the health-boosting, famous green tea. The Green Tea addition is meant to be fabulous for infusing and rejuvenating the muscles and clearing the head.

Heavenly Spa, Lima, Peru
In the heart of Lima’s concrete oasis this spa is the perfect hideaway for when the city life gets too much. You’ll feel so relaxed in this haven nestled in the busy city streets – that’ll you’ll forget about the hustle and bustle within minutes. The décor is sleek, modern and elegant and you’ll feel like you’re in a mixture of a high-end bar and a luxurious spa hotel. My favourite part of this spa? Definitely the attention to detail! Enjoy all the little details, such as the specially scented pillows and neck-rests.

Talise Ottoman Spa, Dubai
This gorgeous spa is set in one of the World’s most luxurious cities, and feels just as much like a cultural experience as it does a relaxing one. The décor here feels deeply traditional; it’s very reminiscent of traditional Middle Eastern spa’s and yet it feels modern and elegant too. The gorgeous tiling feels a million world’s away from anything normal – and you’ll be overcome by awe when you look at the treatment list. I’d recommend the Sultan Massage, an hour and a half of pure bliss!

Elle works for No1 Traveller lounges, who encourage everyone to fully relax on their vacation. From the very first moment to the very last!

For many years, tourists from around the world have flocked to South Korea to experience its beautiful architecture, delicious cuisine and rich culture. But more recently, the country has developed into a thriving healthcare hub, with thousands of foreign patients traveling to South Korea for a wide range of medical and wellness treatments.

According to South Korean government data, over 110,000 health tourists traveled to the country in 2011, and cosmetic surgery, dermatology, traditional oriental medicine and cancer treatment were some the most sought after procedures.

Technology is driving Health and Wellness Travel to South Korea

South Korea is one of the world’s most technologically advanced countries. High-tech corporations like Samsung and LG have long held respected positions within the global market. Now health care is sharing the global spotlight, and state-of-the-art medical technologies are the main attraction.

The increase in demand for healthcare services in South Korea is also due to the country’s highly skilled physicians and superior healthcare services. The nation is recognized worldwide for advances in disease prevention and alternative medicine. Because of this, health tourists are inspired to undergo comprehensive health screenings, where highly-trained medical staff uses modern equipment and techniques to evaluate a patient’s health and uncover diseases at early stages. Treatments that combine Western medicine with “traditional” oriental medicine are commonly used to treat or cure ailments.

Preventative Medicine combined with Curative Spa

For tourist seeking to revitalize the body and rejuvenate the soul can select all-inclusive wellness packages to Seoul, the country’s capital. A typical package may include an extensive health screening combined with a spiritual retreat in a Buddhist temple, or a Korean cultural experience combined with a traditional spa stay. And with the assistance of a reputable health travel provider, visitors will enjoy first-class treatment from arrival to departure, ensuring a worry-free travel experience.

Getting there

While in Seoul, visitors will appreciate the exceptional service and reasonable cost of treatment. Most hospitals involved in South Korean medical tourism maintain international patient departments that employ English-speaking staff hired to take care of medical tourists’ needs.

Additionally, the South Korean government has amended its immigration policies allowing overseas patients, as well as their family members to obtain long-term medical visas in order receive extensive medical treatment in the country. Global health travel providers like Voyage for Health can make all the arrangements for traveling to South Korea for health purposes. They will assist in obtaining medical visas and scheduling treatments and procedures, as well as book accommodations, coordinate transportation and tours.
